Watercolors and Mixed Media

         Welcome to my website and I'm happy to share my art with you!

        Growing up in Northern California I was forever searching for treasures in nature and creating things out of bone, shells, feathers and twigs. This blossomed into a love for drawing, painting and sculpture. After graduating from the Academy of Art (San Francisco) in 1985 with a BFA in Sculpture and I have worked in a variety of media from oil/mixed media/acrylics, ceramics to bronze casting, to neon mixed media sculpture, printmaking and gourds.

          Since discovering watercolors in 2010, I have been captivated  by the luminosity, fluidity, color and transparency of the medium. My exploration in watercolors is connected to nature, aquatic life and wild animals (in preserves) and birds. More recently I’ve been intrigued by the challenges of abalone shells and glass!

          My home in the woods is in a rookery for Great Blue Herons, Hawks, Egrets and great Horned owls. Many other birds also grace my surroundings and bring endless inspiration!

           I find solace, joy and balance while in the painting zone and look forward to many years of creative exploration. I've been showing my work in numerous group and solo shows throughout California and neighboring states since 1986.
